Biography
Professor and honorary faculty of Imperial College, London. He is Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioner and College of Public Health. UK, member of the Irish College of General Practitioner and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He was the Vice President and Chairman of Family & Community Department at Arabian Gulf University, College of Medicine Bahrain. He is the General Secretary of the International Society for the History of Islamic Medicine and is currently the chairman of Home Health Care Centre, He served for eight years as the President of the Scientific Council of Family & Community Medicine in the Arab Board for Health Specialties. He published three books, contributed to chapters in two international books and 70 articles Published in refereed Journals. He is also a regular health education editor in the local magazines and newspapers. Dr. Alnasir is recognized locally, regionally and internationally for his expertise in the areas of Family Medicine for which he is regularly invited to many conferences and scientific gathering to deliver talks and lectures. Prof Alnasir was the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Bahrain Medical Society, and now he is the member of the editorial boards of many national and international journals. He also serves as an advisor for the World Health Organization, EMRO region and the World Organization Congress of Family Physicians (WONCA, EMR). Prof Alnasir served as a member of various medical and scientific societies and acted on many institutional and national committees including the National Committee for the Care of the Elderly, Postgraduate Certificate Accreditation Committee, Drug licensure committee and others. Also, currently, he is the board member and official representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Elite Doctor Association, Anti-Smoking International Alliance and founder and a member of Global Family Medicine Scientific Alliance. Prof Alnasir was awarded many recognitions and appreciation of excellence from various local and international organizations. It includes: Gold Medals from H.E. the late Amir of Bahrain, the Bahrain Medical Society, the Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians, the World Organization Congress of Family Doctors (WONCA) as the Global Family Doctor of the month, the Arab Council for Health Specialties, the Sudanese National Council, distinguished award from H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Alkhalifa’s prize for parents caring, and most recently was recognized by the World Health & Wellness Awards in India for his remarked professional input.
